Hello from Vegas

Posted on February 13, 2012 by janamathena | 0 Comments

It has been a long day here in Vegas, scouring over 100,000 square feet of fashion trade shows so that we can bring you guys the best that we can. But as I sit here in my hotel robe and slippers with my tired feet up, I will tell you that I am the luckiest girl in the world. A very tired, lucky girl.

We definitely picked out some fantasticalness that I cannot WAIT to get in so that everyone can see it. You are going to love it! - I hope - But I definitely love all of it and it's totally unique and different. There's sports, there's fun and there's fashion. We're bringing it all this year.

We ended the day cruising around the 'Street' show with a beer, checking out what was happening on the 2nd floor. It's a show with style similar to it's name and it felt like a Street-style circus. We saw a pair of guys jamming on acoustic guitars together, a game of dice over a pack of cigarettes, half naked promotional girls for various brands, clouds of smoke of multiple varieties and a half pike in the back with an intense skate competition, the last jump height at over 15-feet.

But we also saw the upcoming fashion trends. What's eventually coming to Texas is already in 'Street' and we're keeping our eyes open. We saw slimmer styles, bold colors, thick glasses and lots of flat bills - girls, boys, young, old. Think Redfoo from LMFAO meets Jay-Z. I can't wait to see how it's done when these styles finally reach Plano, Texas.

For now I need some dinner and drinks, but we'll get back to it tomorrow, finding awesome, unique and super high quality goods you are going to love!

Time to Party!

Posted on January 19, 2011 by janamathena | 0 Comments

I can't believe it's been six months since we opened the doors. I remember the days leading up to that moment - that moment where we unlocked the door and prayed people would walk in. We didn't have an awning or a sign; we didn't even have tags on the clothes the first couple of days. But still we had people. But mostly we had friends and family.

We wouldn't be where we are today without the love and support of family and friends. Our friends have donated time and energy, volunteered to haul, load and clean and shown up at every event, trunk show and tailgate, spreading the word along the way. And our families have been there to listen and advise, to toast and cheer from the sidelines and to challenge us to grow and expand and work harder every day.

So here we are, with a store open seven days a week, great girls that work part-time and are invested as if the store was theirs and a website open 24 hours a day. As someone who has spent years working for other people in the fashion industry, it is a dream come true to own my own store. It literally warms my soul when people tell me how grateful they are that we opened - when they "get it." And it makes it worth every stressful minute.

It hasn't always been easy. In fact, a lot of this journey has been very, very hard. I look forward to a time when I can look back on the beginning. But for now I'm strapped into the roller coaster. And thank you for being a part of it. But it's not all emotional. It's also fabulous! Which is to say: a party!

Join us tonight in-store for appetizers and beer from Gordon Beirsch and help us celebrate our Half Birthday. Six Months Old! And to celebrate all week, the entire store is 20% off and sale items are 50% off.

We have a lot coming up this year with events for our entire Shops at Legacy North community, partnerships with amazing charities, fantastic products and new teams. But let's kick off the year with our Half Birthday party.

Wednesday, January 19th 6-8PM

Be there!
